Nathan Frizzell, Region Six Silver Award

  • Frequently Asked Questions

    Who is eligible?
Community organizations and non-profits may enter the Community Awards category, while individual artists can enter the Artist Awards category.

    How do I enter?
Entry information for 2025 will be available in the spring, but only projects completed between January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024 will be eligible for the 2025 awards.

    How do I become a muralist/paint a mural?
Most artists learn how to paint murals through trial and error. There are many techniques and materials and figuring out which works best for you will come from experimentation. We offer a variety of programs to community groups and organizations to help artists achieve their goals.

I have a building I’d love to spruce up. How do I hire a mural artist?
The fastest way to make a mural happen on your building is to fund it yourself. Check with your local government to be sure any public facing mural doesn’t require special permitting, then find an artist you like and ask them for a quote. Our goal at the NMAs is to create a database of reliable and talented artists, so contact our offices and we’ll do our best to connect you with a great artist you’ll love.
